Stephanie Gottwald
Artist | Hobbyist | Traditional Art
My Name is Stephanie and I am from Germany.
I paint since I am able to hold a pencil, but I am not nearly able to paint what I have in mind.
Most of the time I make fantasy and furry art but I am able to work outside of my comfort zone if needed.

I use many different media in my creations but I havent found my way into digital media so far. Sometimes I experiment with it, but I dont feel comfortable working at the pc for art.
But I am working on this problem. ;)
Hello everyone. :)

Maybe its just the upcoming eurofurence that make me feel so nervous the last time, but the last month I started to feel very unsatisfied about my art.

No, I dont think everything I do is awfull. ;)
I just feel like I am stuck and not moving forward and I am not nearly on the level of skill I want to achieve.

So I thouht, maybe a forum packed with skilled artists who kick my ass would be a good cure.

Do you know an active forum for artists where a traditional working blobb like me could go to?
It dont has to be furry related as long as I can learn there without getting murdered for drawing furry stuff. X3
Of course I would prefer a german forum, but I searched the last days by myself and most of them seem to be very dead. :/

I would highly appreciate your help. :)

What do you mean you aren't comfortable working at eh pc for art?! Your digital art is AMAZING!!! :D

I've been wanting work with digital media too, but I am really terrible at it.. What program do you recommend/use for your digital work?

Because I am not working digital that often (because I am realy not comfortable with it ;P) I havent found "the one and only programm" that I use.
I use Gimp and Sai a lot. I dont like the interface of gimp but for a free art programm it is amazing powerfull.

I tried fire alpaca and liked it, but dont use it anymore since I found krita wich has the most tools as so far and works quite stable on my pc.

I love, love love, photoshop but because I dont have that much money I can only use it at work. :/
But if you can afford is great!

For painting I would always use Sai, but for postwork or textures I would use photoshop/gimp.

Thank you very much for your kind words. :)

Oh awesome!

I've just dabbled around with Gimp and Sai previously, but have never even heard of fire alpaca before.

I will have to give them a try again! Thank you! w00t!

You are very welcome. :)
As I said: I think the interface of gimp is horrible but its a powerfull programm.  Maybe you will get into it after some time.
